There are millions of people that travel to Melbourne each year; whether it be for business or pleasure, no trip is complete without visiting some of the most popular attractions. We’ve made you a list of places and activities that should be on your itinerary!

1) Royal Botanical Gardens

The Royal Botanical Gardens offer public gardens, open spaces, ceremonial avenues and parklands set across 11% of the CBD’s total area. The wide variety of native plant species has led this garden to become one of Australia’s most significant botanic gardens. It’s also an incredibly romantic place – just ask anyone who has ever proposed here!

2) Victorian Arts Centre

Located in the heart of Southbank, the Victorian Arts Centre has three museums (the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, the Melbourne Museum of Design and The Ian Potter Museum of Art) as well as five theatres. It’s also the location of where Moomba is held – which is Melbourne’s very own festival!

3) Queen Victoria Market

The Queen Victoria Market has been around since 1878 and it is now one of Australia’s biggest markets selling everything from fresh fruit, meats and cheese to arts and crafts. You can easily spend hours perusing through all that there is to offer here.  If you’re wanting to grab some lunch afterwards then check out one of our favourite places – La Torrefazione , situated just across the road from the market.

4) Eureka Skydeck 88

Eureka Tower is a huge, 300m high building that has a skydeck located on level 88. The views from here are absolutely breath taking and you can’t help but to get a little excited when you’re standing out on the glass floor looking 1km straight down! Make sure you book in advance online to avoid disappointment.

5) Southgate & Crown Casino

Make your way over to Southgate which is one of Melbourne’s newest hotspots for bars and cafes. The atmosphere here is great – it really does have an inner city vibe about it, but without being overly crowded or full of tourists. Our tip would be to stop off at the Southgate Hotel for a drink or two – they have a rooftop bar with views of the city and Yarra River. Next door is Crown Casino, which has a variety of amazing restaurants in it. Check out one of our favourite spots Pho  Nam  for some delicious Vietnamese food.

6) 100% Melbourne

100% Melbourne is a free walking tour that discusses all that there is to do and see in Melbourne! The tour takes you through such places such as Federation Square, Bourke Street Mall and Centre Place. Make sure you book online beforehand so you don’t miss out!

7) Cockatoo Island

Cockatoo Island is just a short ferry ride away from the city and it’s where you can find some of Australia’s most iconic film locations, including the famous beach scene in Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’. There are so many things to do here – whether it be catching an outdoor movie or visiting one of their art exhibitions.

And if you think you want some more excitement in your life apart from this, you can check out the Ivy Société escorts.
